How to design an attic kitchen in InSitu: slopes, beams and roof windows
Under the roof, height decides everything: your AI assistant sets the ceiling in InSitu, then lays out the kitchen with the slope in mind.

Describing a sloped ceiling
- the wall under the slope;
- the height at the bottom and the height at the top;
- its depth, measured on the floor from the wall;
- the knee wall it starts from, if there is one.
Slope on the window side: 1.10 m at the bottom, 2.40 m at the top, 1.80 m deep. Flat ceiling at 2.40 m elsewhere.

Beams, roof windows and dormers
- a beam: its position, its width and the height under it;
- a roof window: its size and its place on the slope;
- a dormer: its width and its depth.

The available height, everywhere
Once the ceiling is set, the assistant reads the available height at any point, under the slope as under a beam. That height, not the flat ceiling’s, tells what fits.

Tall units and wall units

Tall units go where the room is high.

Under the slope, lower wall units, a shelf, or nothing: your choice.

Have it checked: a unit touching the slope or a tall unit too high for its spot shows up at once.
Oven tower and fridge tower on the door wall. Under the slope, no wall units: a shelf above the sink if the height allows.
Check before you show it
The elevation of the wall under the slope and a perspective from the entrance: that is where a mistake jumps out.
Show me the elevation of the window wall with the slope, then a perspective from the door.
Tip In front of the worktop, think of the cook’s head and of the hood: that is where the height matters.
